The Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund on Friday, April 8, agreed to the opening of a special administrative account to send money from donor countries to help Ukraine. This was announced by Deputy Director from Ukraine to the IMF Vladislav Rashkovan.
According to him, the corresponding decision was lobbied by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine together with the government of Canada, which had previously sought the support of the Netherlands, Poland, Scandinavian and Baltic countries.
“1 billion dollars from Canada will be sent to assist the Government of Ukraine through IMF tools,” Rashkovan noted and added that similar work is being done in other countries.
As reported, on the eve of the European Commission gave Ukraine a grant in the amount of 120 million euros as part of a general package of emergency financial assistance to Ukraine.
