The fifth package of EU sanctions against Russia, imposed for its aggression on Ukraine, includes 217 individuals and 18 legal entities. Their names and titles will appear in the regulations published in the Official Journal of the EU on Friday 8 April.

Additional to the list are the so-called “ministers” and members of the “People’s Council” of “L/DPR”, head of Sberbank German Gref, businessman Said Kerimov, general director and co-owner of PJSC Surgutneftegaz Vladimir Bogdanov, representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense Major General Igor Konashenkov and others.
Sanctions were also imposed on the heads of major Russian media outlets. Among them are VGTRK General Director Oleg Dobrodeev, Moskovsky Komsomolets Editor-in-Chief Pavel Gusev, and TASS General Director Sergei Mikhailov.
As for legal entities, restrictions were imposed on four banks – VTB, Novikombank, Sovcombank and Otkritie Bank – and another 14 military -industrial, machine -building, shipbuilding and transportation companies.
Overall, the list of EU sanctions for Russia includes 1,091 individuals and 80 organizations.
“The assets of individuals included in the list are subject to a freeze, and EU citizens and companies are prohibited from providing funds to them. Individuals are further subject to a travel ban that preventing them from entering or moving into EU territories, ”the community stressed.
