The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has responded to the Hungary government’s blocking a number of Ukrainian media.
The Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Georgy Tikhiy on Social Network X on Monday, September 29, spoke about blocking Ukrainian news sites in Hungary, indicating the main difference in the motives of such actions. He emphasized that Ukraine prevented the spread of Russia’s propaganda, while the Hungarian government was limiting the access of the people to independent journalism.
“The difference is that Ukraine blocks Russia’s propaganda, as the Orban government blocks the access of journalism based on the facts. But for them the farther from the truth, the better,” he wrote.
Remember that the leader of Hungarian prime minister Gergea Guyayash announced the decision to block 12 Ukrainian sites. He filed it as an answer to the blocking of resources, which, according to him, criticized the EU and NATO penalty policy and the support of Ukraine. Guyash called Ukraine’s actions “unreasonable” and emphasized Hungary’s right as a sovereign state to act “proportional.”
