The NATO Command in Europe has approved a joint action plan for the general staff of the Armed Forces of Sweden and Finland.
In the north of Europe, a new NATO shock force was created, designed to strengthen alliance defense near the borders along with Russia. This was reported by the Finnish publication that Iltalehti has a reference to NATO resources.
It has been mentioned that the basis of the new brigade of 4-5 thousand military personnel located near Finnish Lapland will be the warriors of the Swedish machine Norrbotten Brigade. This subsection specializes in hostility in winter conditions and includes five battalions and units.
The armament, including the Swedish self -propelled Howitzers Archer with a firing of up to 50 km, is located in Lapland. In the event of a conflict, British fighters Eurofighter and F-35, as well as Apache helicopters, will provide support.
Finnish army forces in the north of Finland are represented by a hunting brigade and the Eatuu Brigade. In northern Finland, directly next to the Nato Lapland Brigade, about 5-7 thousand Finnish soldiers can be an ongoing basis.
It is noted that they are all together with an equal military number with Russian army units in this direction.
