The head of the White House does not recommend pregnant women and children to take a popular drug based on paracetamol in the USA.
US president Donald Trump said a popular overcontinal drug Tylenol (Analogue of Paracetamol) brings autism to children during pregnancy. He made a corresponding statement on Monday, September 22, at the Oval Office, with health minister Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other medical officials, Reuters reported.
“Tylenol’s acceptance is not good. I’ll tell you. It’s not good. You shouldn’t give Tylenol to the child every time he was given an injection,” Trump said.
She emphasized that women should not use this drug during pregnancy, “if it is only necessary”, for example, at high temperatures.
Trump noted that the US Products and Medications Office (FDA) will send doctors’ recommendations to the possible connection between the use of acetaminophene (Tylenol) during the mother’s pregnancy and an increase in the risk of developing autism in children.
Meanwhile, Reuters give the researchers’ opinion that there is no good evidence of the connection between Tylenol’s use and autism.
