Today, September 19, two Russian fighter fighters made a low flight over the Polish oil platform in the Baltic Sea.
Morski Oddział Straży Granicznej reported this on the social network X Network X.
Provocative behavior of Russia. The report said that two Russian armed forces made a low flight over the platform for Petrogobalt oil and gas.
Polish security services constantly monitor the situation in critical places of marine infrastructure, in particular outside the Polish territorial waters added to the border service.
The press secretary of the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs Carolina Galetsk said that the aircraft were at an altitude of about 150 meters.
TVN24, citing a press secretary of the Polish marine border service, Katazhin Pshibysh reports that as a result of this incident there was no violation of the state border.
This was in the exclusive economic zone. We (…) reported that we would aggravate the vigilance and react to any other violations that relate to violations of state borders. This did not work, so we did not need to answer, ”she said.
The Polish radio notes that the Petrobalet Platform is a marine extraction belonging to the Orlen group and works in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. It is used to produce oil and gas under the bottom of the sea. This is the only place in Poland where energy resources are extracted directly from the sea. It is located several tens of kilometers north of Poland at the far northern point and is an important element of the country’s energy security.
We recall that today three Russian fighters flew into the airspace of Estonia and remained in it for 12 minutes.
