Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, signed the Law on Military Ombudsman.
This is indicated on the map of the bill No. 13266 on the website Verkhovna Rada.
The bill suggests that:
- Military Ombudsman is appointed president for five years. The same person cannot be assigned to this position for more than two in a row;
- The military Ombudsman may be a person at the age of 30, who has a higher education and lives in Ukraine over the past five years;
- The management of the military ombudsman is formed as an auxiliary body;
- Complaints of the Military Ombudsman will be able to file both directly to the military and authorized by other persons in accordance with the procedure established by law;
- According to the results of complaints, the military ombudsman or one of his deputies will have the right to appoint inspections;
- The military Ombudsman will control the security and defense sector in relation to the rights of military personnel, reservists and draftees during the meeting, members of the volunteer formation of territorial communities in connection with their participation in territorial defense or military operations associated with direct participation in hostilities.
For this bill, in the second reading, yesterday, September 17, she voted in the Verkhovna Rada.
