Kyiv supports the position of the EU president that Russia’s ownership can only be restored if Russia agrees to pay reparations.
Presidential office head Andrei Ermak said Ukraine against proposals for Russia returned to frozen possessions in exchange for a termination. Ermak said of this at the 20th annual Yes Conference, held at KYIV, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“Our answer is no. It’s not a price for a stopping stop,” Ermak said.
Deputy prime minister Taras Taras Kachka at the conference recalled that the President of the European Union Ursula von der Layen made a very clear statement about so-called reparation loans in Ukraine due to frozen Russian properties.
“It is very clear and accurate in the details that Russia’s properties will be used as a kind of borrowing that will only be paid when Russia agrees to pay reparatments. This is a very broad political framework, and they need to be developed as a legal and financial instrument, but the statement is very clear and public. of the state, “Kachka emphasized.
According to him, there were discussions between European institutions and member states about how to correctly implement the decision, giving the Belgium position as a member state that would open against the confiscation of Russian funds. Ukraine Torgmark added that the proposed mechanism does not provide for such confiscation, therefore, Belgium will probably support this idea.
Pitch also expressed hope that in the coming months there will be a dynamics through the final decision on this issue.
As we have written, in the European Union we have begun to officially discuss the procedure for increasing revenue from frozen Russian properties to compensate for losses in Ukraine.
And last week the final negotiation of compensation negotiations for Ukraine began with The Hague.
