Ukraine will not receive military assistance in the form of heavy tanks from Spain.
The Spanish government has decided not to send German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine. This decision was made because this technique is in a completely unsatisfactory state, because it has not been used for many years. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Spain Margarita Robles, according to El Mundo.
Today we are considering all the possibilities, but I can already tell you that Leopards, which have not been used for many years, cannot be sent to Ukraine, because they are in an absolutely unfavorable condition,” the official noted.
Robles stressed that Spanish specialists had tested the Leopards, during which it turned out that the tanks could not be used. Therefore, they decided not to send them to Ukraine, because it would be a risk for people.
Recall that Poland has prepared for Ukraine the first eight Krab self-propelled howitzers out of 60 contracted by Kyiv. In addition, another exercise for the soldiers of the Ukrainian army, who will lead howitzers, is now being completed in Poland, Polskie Radio reports.
