Polish Sejm has approved a new law aimed at regulating the assistance to Ukrainian citizens to leave their country due to Russian invasion. On Friday, September 12, a law was adopted that determined the procedure for payments and clarified the conditions of legal stay in Poland. This was reported by the publication of RAR.
According to the media, the draft law appeared after President Karol Navrotsky imposed a veto on changes about the support program for the Ukrainians, known as “800+”.
The new document has established that the right to pay depends on the work and education of children at a Poland school. An exception is provided for people with disabilities. In addition, recipients should provide at least half of the minimum wage in the country.
Poland authorities plan to evaluate the work of the people of Ukrainian monthly, and if they do not work, suspend payments. It is also provided for control of the possible removal of Ukrainians from the country, the publication says.
Separately clarified access restrictions on medical services for Ukraine’s adult citizens. This applies to therapeutic rehabilitation, dental care and drug treatment.
The law also expands the legal status of the Ukrainians in Poland until March 4, 2026, according to the corresponding decision of the EU Council.
