Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky allowed foreign volunteer soldiers to extend contracts for up to 10 years during a special period. This was reported on the website of the head of state.

It was noted that the provision was supplemented with a new paragraph, according to which “during the special period for military personnel, at their request, the period of military service under the new contract may be extended for a period of 1 to 10 years, but not more than until reaching the age limit for military service. service”.
Earlier, the General Staff explained the status of foreigners in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Citizens of foreign states serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a contract basis.
Recall that in early March, the Ministry of Defense reported that volunteers and veterans from 52 countries of the world expressed their desire to become members of the International Legion. Their number exceeded 20 thousand people.
