Removal of penalties will give Belarus to buy spare parts for further transfer of Russia.
Belarus’s opposition leader Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said that a slight lifting of penalties from Belarus will open legal loopholes for Russia. Tikhanovskaya on Thursday, September 11, told the air of the Belsat television channel, TVN24 report.
Tikhanovskaya emphasized that the release of 52 political prisoners does not indicate “any Lukashenko humanism,” but as a result of “a long work of a democratic opposition, the position of the European Union and the diplomatic efforts of the United States.”
In addition, Tikhanovskaya has warned that weakening of pressure penalties in Belarus, in particular, the US administration has promised that the raising of sanctions from the beavia plane will open legal loopholes for Russia.
“Raising penalties will give Belarus to buy spare parts for state planes, but can also open a legal gap for Russia, in terms of getting spare parts by Belovia,” Tikhanovskaya Quote TVN24.
The opposition was also warned against a policy change regarding the Belarus dictator regime. He noted that US president Donald Trump “has enough power to ensure the release of all” political prisoners. According to him, he now uses gingerbread, but he also has a whip in his sleeve.
It is noteworthy that on Thursday the United States raised part of the penalties with Belarus, in particular, the Belarusian Airline of Belarus, which was imposed in June 2022 for the assistance of the Russian Federation in military invasion against Ukraine. In response, Lukashenko released more than 50 political prisoners.
