The German defense concern Rheinmetall will build a new plant for making shells in the safe region of Ukraine. This was said by Ukraine’s defense minister Denis Shmygal on Telegram.
According to him, in London, in the areas of the International Arms Exhibition of Defense Security and Equipment International Exhibit and Conference (DSEI), German Rheinmetall ag Armin Papperger took place.
He added that since the final communication of the company management, the procedures have been -finalized to launch a new combined production.
“On September 9, the land was allocated to the safe region of Ukraine, where a new rheinmetall shell plant would be built for the needs of defense forces,” Shmygal said.
During the meeting, other important projects were also discussed, in particular, the development of possibilities for repairing and manufacturing of the armored vehicles. The RheinMetall line has a series of new examples that can strengthen Ukraine’s defense forces.
“Developing the direction of air defense is also discussed with Mr. Pappperger, especially how to coexist and improve decisions that will help us more effectively fight enemy drones. I sincerely thank RheinMetall for the support and development of joint big projects,” the Ministry of Defense leader.
