The regulator examines possible abuses in the energy market

NKRECP said they are conducting an initial study of the reality of significant changes in market prices in August and September.

The national commission, which conducts state regulation in areas of energy, explore possible abuse of the wholesalers’ wholesalers in August-September. On Wednesday, September 10, the regulator’s press service reported.

The NKRECP noted that the study was conducted “based on the results of monitoring of the wholesalers of wholesale energy market and based on relevant reports of possible abuses in the wholesale NKRECP’s wholesale energy market.”

The regulator said he is conducting a preliminary study of the reality of significant renovation -change in market prices “for one day in advance” in August and September 2025.

Note that by the end of August, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Public Utility, Andrei Gerus, has announced possible conspiracy in the power market. He explained that in Ukraine there are no legislative policies for importing restrictions. As a result, the Ukrenergo dispatcher is acting at their own decision, which negatively affects the price for the consumer.

It was also reported that the NKRECP decided to increase tariffs for electricity distribution for non -Non -use Consumer. Typically, tariffs will grow 14% for the first voltage class and by 23% for the second voltage class. For the population, electricity prices remain unchanged.
