Germany’s new long -term initiative will be funded by 300 million euros, the minister said.
Ukraine has already received the first additional launchers of Patriot Systems from Germany. Berlin also starts a new initiative with long drones. This was expressed by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius at a 30th -30th contact group meeting with Ukraine’s defense in Ramstein format on Tuesday, September 9.
“In addition to the ongoing supply of weapons and ammunition systems, Germany is now delivering two entire Patriot systems to Ukraine. The first launchers have been moved to Ukraine,” he said, opening the meeting.
In addition, according to Pistorius, a new long -term initiative (deep strike) and the strengthening of German support begins with the acquisition of drones with the Ukraine defense industry.
“Germany started the new Deep Strike initiative and strengthened its support for the purchase of long drones along with the Ukraine defense industry. As part of this initiative, we end a number of contracts with Ukrainian businesses covering 300 million euros,” the minister said.
The pistorus pointed out that these contracts provide for the supply of several thousand long drones of different types of Ukrainian production. At the same time, contracts “contain options to increase volume.”
Remember that today in London a 30th Ramstein format is taking place. It occurs in a hybrid format. In addition to Pistorius, UK defense secretary John Gilly, NATO secretary General Mark Rutte and Ukraine Denis Shmygal’s defense minister of defense are present in person. Other participants joined the meeting online.
