Donald Trump is still focusing on the idea of achieving a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, despite growing uncertainty about Putin and Zelensky’s meeting.

Russia’s dictator Vladimir Putin continues, to discuss the vanity of negotiations in Ukraine, then invited Vladimir Zelensky to negotiations in Moscow. According to Putin, Trump asked him to hold bilateral negotiations with the President of Ukraine: “By the way, Donald asked me, if possible, such a meeting was held. I said: Yes, this is possible.” And then, in violation of his own logic about the vanity of negotiations, added: “In the end, if Zelensky is ready, he approaches Moscow, such a meeting will take place.”

Zelensky’s reaction

During a press conference with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, following a coalition meeting of Paris in Paris on Thursday, September 4, Zelensky said Russia was doing everything to delay the meeting.

“As for assembly, the meeting is required. It’s not about desire, but it is necessary. We support any format – both trilateral and bilateral (meeting). I think Russia is doing everything to delay,” he said.

Zelensky added that he received information from American partners that the head of the Kremlin regime was “invited” to him in Moscow.

“If you want a meeting, you have to invite me to Moscow … Russia has begun to talk about a meeting, it’s good, but right now we don’t see their desire to end the war. And in my opinion, the adult leaders from these level meetings should release some results, better the end of the war,” the Ukrainian State leader.

US reaction

US president Donald Trump said he is planning a phone conversation with the Russian President. “I’ll talk to him in the coming days and find out exactly what’s going on,” Reuters quoted Trump.

Journalists also asked Trump what his message Putin was. “I have no message to President Putin,” Trump replied. “He knows what my position is, and he’ll make it or that decision. Depending on what decision he will make, we will enjoy him or unlucky. And if we are not satisfied, you will see what will happen.”

After that, in an interview on the phone, CBS News Trump said he was still focusing on the idea of achieving a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, despite the growing uncertainty about Putin and Zelensky’s meeting. “They are not ready yet. But something will happen. We will achieve this,” Trump said.

Flying his head

“So far, at least seven countries are willing to accept the meeting of the leaders of Ukraine and Russia to end the war. Austria, Vatican, Switzerland, Turkey and three Persian Gulf states. These are serious proposals, and Zelensky’s president is ready for such a meeting at any time,” said foreign minister Andrei Samiba.

“However, Putin is constantly cheating on everything, passing clearly unacceptable -accepted measures. Only pressure increases can make Russia finally take a peaceful process,” Samiba added.
