Ayman al-Zawahiri is one of the world’s most wanted terrorists who masterminded the attacks on September 11, 2001.

The United States killed al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. On Monday, August 1, CNN reported, citing its own sources.

It is known that the terrorist was removed by the US Central Intelligence Agency using a drone.

The US government has not yet confirmed his death.

Zawahiri, who just turned 71, was Osama bin Laden’s personal physician and became his successor after his death.

As mentioned, he is one of the world’s most wanted terrorists, having led the attacks on September 11, 2001, along with al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden.

Zawahiri’s whereabouts remained unknown for a long time. The US State Department has offered a reward of up to $25 million for information leading directly to Zawahiri’s arrest.

The White House said that US President Joe Biden will soon make a statement about the successful counter-terrorism operation.

Earlier, an explosion occurred at the stadium in Kabul. The incident happened right during a cricket match in the capital of Afghanistan.
