In Margalivka, the Kyiv region today, August 29 – on the day of the state defenders, the official opening of the National Military Memorial Cemetery took place.

There was also a military ceremony of unknown soldiers with military honors to honor the memory of the fallen heroes whose names were not established. These are the first burials in the memorial. In a separate city in the cemetery there is a burial sector of unknown defenders and defenders.
VOLODYMYR ZELENSKYY President, chairman of Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Minister of Defense Denis Schmigal, Minister of Veterans Natalya Kalmmikova, was among the cemeteries at the opening of the cemetery.
Features of the National Military Memorial Cemetery – this is the association and standardization of the burial – all of them will have the only type and place:
- Initially, a temporary frozen structure was created, created on the basis of Cossack crosses of the XV-XVI centuries;
- A year later, after the natural settlement of the soil, a constant tombstone will be placed in its place – in the form of a Cossack cross or a rectangular plate chosen by the family of the deceased.
