On September 1, 2025, the government will not finance the educational subsidy (except for the initial educational institutions) with less than 45 students, and from September 1, 2026 – less than 60.
This was reported on the publication “Public” with reference to the reaction of the Ministry of Education to a request.
Currently, there is no information about the number of such institutions – this will be after statistical reporting as of the new 2025-2026 academic year.
It is noted that one of the reasons for this innovation is the high cost of training for one student in such schools. According to the Ministry of Education and Science:
- On average, the state spends 30.4 thousand atm per year in the village;
- In the city, this figure is 24.4 thousand;
- In some villages, the cost of studying one student reaches more than 51 thousand AAA. This is due to the need to hold and pay employees of a large number of schools with a small number of students.
At the same time, decisions on the reorganization, elimination or re -equipment (changes) of the educational institution are made by local councils. Therefore, local self -government bodies can decide:
- Give the students of these schools to the nearest big school;
- Or pay for the work of small school teachers from local budgets.
This is not the first decision – from September 1, 2016, schools do not finance schools with less than 25 students.
