Russian troops have not achieved a breakthrough in Donbass and are moving forces to reinforce in the direction of Zaporozhye.
Russia is correcting the operational plan of the offensive in Donbass after the failures and identified the direction of Zaporozhye as a vulnerable sector of the front. This is stated in the report of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, published on August 1.
“For the past four days, Russia has continued to make tactical attacks in the direction of Bakhmut northeast of Donetsk, but it is moving slowly,” said British intelligence.
It was noted that according to the information of the Ukrainian authorities, the Russian army is moving significant forces from the north of Donbass to the south of Ukraine.
“Russia is likely adjusting the operational plan for its Donbas offensive after failing to achieve a decisive operational breakthrough in line with the plan it has been following since April. Apparently, it has identified the Zaporozhye Front as a vulnerable area that needs strengthening. , ” stressed the British military.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that moving part of the forces from Eastern Ukraine to the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions would not help Russia.
