The head of European diplomacy welcomed Pristina’s decision to postpone the innovation plan for the Serbs.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell welcomed the decision of the Kosovo government to postpone the planned change of documents for Serbs until September 1. He published the corresponding statement on Twitter on August 1.
“Expect all roadblocks to be cleared immediately,” Borrell said.
He also emphasized that “open issues should be resolved within the EU-facilitated dialogue and focus on a comprehensive normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.”
“This is important for their integration with the EU,” summed up the head of European diplomacy.

It will be recalled that on the night of July 31, the border situation between Serbia and Kosovo escalated due to Pristina’s decision to impose a ban on the entry of vehicles with Serbian license plates and documents from August 1.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Kosovo was allegedly preparing an attack on Serbs in the northern region of the partially recognized state.
After the US reaction, Kosovo decided to postpone the procedure for imposing a ban on Serbian documents until September 1. In Pristina, they stressed that they would make concessions as soon as the Serbs protesting against the innovations dismantle their barricades.
