The statement states that when Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine began, the Vadatursky family, despite the continued shelling of the city, remained in Nikolaev.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences in connection with the death of the Hero of Ukraine, businessman, CEO of Nibulon Oleksiy Vadatursky and his wife Raisa as a result of a massive rocket attack on the city of Nikolaev by Russian troops.
A statement on the president’s website states that when Russia’s all-out war against Ukraine began, the Vadatursky family, despite the constant shelling of the city, remained in Nikolaev.
“This is a great loss for the Mykolaiv region and the whole of Ukraine. In more than 50 years of his career, Oleksiy Vadatursky made a very important contribution to the development of the region and the development of agricultural industries and shipbuilding of our state,” Zelensky stressed.
As mentioned, the Nibulon company, which is the same age as independent Ukraine and employs about 7,000 employees, has rebuilt the modern civilized grain market in the country, creating a strongly developed network of elevators and river transshipment terminals with a total volume of simultaneous storage of more than 2.25 million tons. The company also successfully revived shipping on the Dnieper and Southern Bug, returning these rivers to the glory of the country’s largest transport arteries.
“Alexey Vadatursky and his company were never afraid of challenges and were guided in their activities by love for their native land. Being inspired by themselves, they inspired others on the path of development and always an example to follow. For a significant personal contribution to strengthening the potential of the agro-industrial complex, Alexey Vadatursky was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the State,” said the message.
President Volodymyr Zelensky also expressed his deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
“Eternal memory. All Russians involved in the shelling of civilian objects on the territory of Ukraine will certainly receive a fair punishment,” he stressed.
We remind, the adviser to the head of the Office of the President, Mikhail Podolyak, believes that the death of a well-known businessman-agrarian in Nikolaev was not an accident.
