The parties agree to recognize and respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, the inability of each other’s international boundaries and political freedoms.
Azerbaijan and Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the text of a peace agreement, signed by leaders of Washington countries with the help of US president Donald Trump. This was reported by the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry’s press service.
The document provides for the removal of relationships between the two countries after decades of conflict.
The agreement implies the recognition of both sovereignty, territorial integrity and inability of the boundaries, the abandonment of any territorial claims, and the obligation to prevent the use of strength and disagreement from internal activities.
Among the other provisions of the Agreement:
-
the establishment of diplomatic relations at a certain period of time after ratification;
-
creating commissions for delimitation and border demarcation;
-
a prohibition on the expansion of third countries to a common border;
-
joint resistance to terrorism, extremism and the manifestation of intolerance;
-
regulating issues of missing and human problems;
-
The development of cooperation in economic, transportation, humanitarian and cultural spheres.
The parties have pledged to withdraw and resolve all previous interstate claims and avoid actions to irritate in any form. The agreement will enter the strength after the internal procedures in each of the countries are registered with the UN.
In addition, the foreign minister of the same state turned to the OSCE chairman with the request to close the Minsk process and the relevant structures, including the Institute of the Personal OSCE Chairman’s Institute and a high planning group. On August 11, among the OSCE member countries, they distributed a draft decision of the Ministerial Council to the closure. States have called for supporting the necessary procedures for its adoption.
Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinan on August 8, with the presence of US president Donald Trump, signed a joint expression of peaceful relations. This is not a peace agreement between nations, but, according to European politicians, a “important event”, which opens the way to the “strong and sustainable world” in the region.
In particular, the declaration provides for the cooperation of Armenia in the United States and the third country in its organization in the Transit route its territory Tripp. Yerevan will shift the right to manage this corridor to the American side for 99 years.
Remember that Trump planned to arrange a meeting with Armenia and Azerbaijan leaders in the White House, hoping to achieve a historical peace agreement between the two countries in a state of armed confrontation for a long time.
In March, it was learned about an important success in the negotiation process, which ended with the preparation of the DRAFT peace agreement. However, its exact date of signing is still uncertain.
