Due to the lack of electricity supply, approximately 200-220 thousand people will have to evacuate, including 52 thousand children. Citizens can refuse evacuation by signing the appropriate form.
The government will carry out a mandatory evacuation of residents of the Donetsk region before the start of the heating season. This is what Vice Prime Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Irina Vereshchuk said on the air of the telethon.
According to him, about 200-220 thousand people had to be evacuated from the territory of Donetsk region controlled by Kyiv. Among them, 52 thousand children.
“This is the duty of every adult family member. For example, there are 52,000 of our children in the Donetsk region. They must be evacuated, they must not be put in danger, leave them without heat, without light in the winter,” said Vereshchuk.
He also mentioned that the government has a plan for their further placement and protection in society.
“We have accommodation places, we understand what we will do with their social protection, we understand that they have to get VPO certificates, all fees must be paid, we already have this plan. There is an understanding where these people will be settled, in what regions their children will study,” added Vereshchuk.
At the same time, he said that citizens will have the opportunity to refuse evacuation in writing.
“If a person refuses, he must sign that he understands and knows all the consequences and is personally responsible for his life. We are a democratic country, we cannot force anyone, but such a form will be mandatory and with the signature of such a person,” – he said.
The next area to be evacuated may be the Zaporozhye region, 65% of which has no gas supply.
Earlier, the National Police announced the start of an operation to rescue children in Donbas.
