Within no more than 15 days, President Gitanas Nauceda had to submit to SEJM the candidacy of a new permanent prime minister.
The Lithuanian government, led by Prime Minister Gintutol Palutskas, at a meeting on Monday, decided to resign. The LRT reported this on August 4.
“It was decided to leave the prime minister’s post, I reported that the nineteenth government of Lithuania resigned,” said Gintotas Palutskas, opening the meeting. “It sounds a little dramatic, but I will resign, and you will continue to work temporarily until the new prime minister decides what, how and in what volume will change.”
Palutskas added that the President is now sending a notice of resignation.
As reported last week, Palutskas decided to resign after he started asking more questions more and many questions about his past businessman.
