True, the head of the White House is not sure if the penalties can prevent Russia’s “disgusting” behavior.
US President Donald Trump criticized Russia about Ukraine and announced his desire to impose sanctions against Moscow if the agreement was not reached. On Friday, August 1, the Reuters reported.
Trump spoke greatly about Kremlin’s policy: “What Russia is doing is disgusting and sad.”
During the conversation with journalists at the Oval Office, he noted that he was unsure of the ability to stop Moscow’s actions.
“We probably impose sanctions – I don’t know if his penalties are concerned. They know about the penalties. I know the most about penalties and tariffs. I don’t know if it will have an impact, but we will do it,” the US president added.
As we have written, Trump sought to end the Russian war against Ukraine “until August 8”. The appropriate statement was made by the Acting Deputy Permanent Representative of the United States at UN John Kelly during a UN Security Council meeting.
