The mobilization by 90% passes “completely normal”, and the “small, deceptive percentage” appears in the media, the defense minister said.
In Ukraine, mobilization primarily passes “perfectly normal”, and resonant cases-5-10%only. This was said by defense minister Denis Shmygal in an interview for BBC News Ukraine, published on Wednesday, July 30.
“Right now, mobilization has continued according to the plan. This is true. It is also very important to understand that mobilization of 90% is perfectly normal – people get calls, come to serve. They are not touched, they are not pulled. They receive a document, come to TCC, draw and go to training centers,” he said.
According to Shmygal, the media mainly appears “small, scandal percent”, and it acts against Ukraine, independence and national security. The network creates the look that “only 5-10% of the scandal” reflects all the mobilization, but in fact, “mobilizing 90% is a conscious decision of Ukrainians.”
Shmygal also answered the class stratification question in the context of mobilization, drawing attention to the fact that there are both entrepreneurs and people from army villages.
“The army is a reflection of Ukrainian society. I still have no results of any research, I say this intuitively. But I just don’t want us to live in Russian propaganda and legends,” the minister said.
He added that mobilization is a complex process, therefore it is a constitutional debt to every citizen.
“No one loves the war. And the Ukrainians have not begun this war, we want to live in a peaceful nation. But we must defend this right to live in a peaceful nation,” the head of the Ministry of Defense summarizes.
Earlier, President Vladimir Zelensky spoke about Ukraine’s biggest mobilization. According to him, it was held in 2024.
