Vuchich explained the denial of Serbia to punish the Russian Federation with penalties

Serbia has decided not to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation, despite its military invasion against Ukraine. The step is interpreted by the publication of DNEVNIK, which appeals to the explanations of President Serbia Alexander Vucic.

According to him, Serbia’s policy is based on principles and does not depend on short -term benefits or preferences. He noted that this method was supported by state citizens, as it brought criticism from the international community.

“We will continue to pursue a basic policy that they do not like in the West or the East, but where the citizens of Serbia support,” he emphasized.

In addition, the president recalled the current ban on exporting weapons, introduced from July 31. In his opinion, this decision creates difficulties for the work of the defense industry, and also affects the ability to ensure the salaries of employees of the business business. He emphasized: “Serbia will not allow the major players to draw us into their political games, our position remains unchanged – no penalties.”

Keep in mind that Serbia is currently continuing negotiations with Russia on natural gas supplies, despite European Union’s recommendations to completely abandon the importation of fuel from the country aggressively until 2027.

In addition, it was previously found that Vucich had not signed a joint declaration of the Ukrainian -Seasteast Europe Summit, condemning Russian invasion and containing calls for the introduction of additional sanctions against the Russian Federation.
