Part of the state school building fell into the Indian state of Rajasthan on Friday morning, July 25. At least six students were killed and 29 others were injured. Both of them are in critical condition. This was reported by the local newspaper Times of India.
The incident took place in the village of Jachalavar’s District Piplod at the state’s Senior Elementary School, when students gathered for morning prayer. At least 17 students are in the building, when a section of classrooms for grade 6 and 7 collapses.
About 27 students attended school, and after the fall, a rescue operation immediately began. All students who found themselves under the trash were removed and taken to the hospital.
The Minister of the School of Rajasthan Madan Kilavar said an investigation was being conducted.
“We are also studying the structure of other buildings in the school,” he added.
