The Prosecutor General will check whether the cases investigated by Nabu are really related to its jurisdiction, that is, whether they meet the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code, what cases should be investigated by anti -corruption bodies.
Ruslan Kravchenko said that NABU supposedly had things that the Bureau did not investigate.
This is a separate case – to send a case in accordance with the jurisdiction of NABU for the jurisdiction of other people, law enforcement agencies that have this jurisdiction, ”he said.
According to him, the restriction of SAP powers and the provision of powers of the prosecutor general signature of suspicions of the peaks and verification of the jurisdiction of cases investigated by Nabu is “this is a big responsibility”.
Volodymyr Zelensky met with the heads of Nabu, SAP, NAPC, SBU, DBR, the Ministry of the Interior and the Prosecutor General against the background of protests under the law that limits the powers of NABU and SAP.
They discussed the necessary administrative, legislative decisions that will strengthen the work of each institution, allow existing contradictions, to facilitate threats. Everyone will work together, we will maintain a political level, ”the president said.
He added that the general action plan should be agreed in two weeks.
On July 23, the joint statement of NABU and SAP appeared after a meeting in the presidential office.
Legislative changes adopted on the eve of NABU and SAP independence. This was emphasized by the heads of both institutions during a meeting initiated by the president.
From now on, Nabu and Sap are deprived of guarantees that previously allowed them to effectively fulfill their tasks and functions in the fight against fireworks. To restore complete and independent work, clear and unambiguous steps are required at the level of the law, which will return guarantees canceled by parliament.
At the same time, NABU and SAP emphasize their commitment to the interests of the Ukrainian people and continue to work on maintaining the professional potential of both institutions and the results achieved during their years of activity.
The rule of law and compliance with the law remain unchanged for NABU and SAP. We expect the same approach from other law enforcement agencies.
We sincerely thank the citizens of Ukraine for its fundamental position, active support and indifference. It was thanks to active civil participation that anti -corruption reform was possible.
NABU and SAP are urging international partners to continue the comprehensive support of Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. The power and sustainability of Ukrainian defense forces, the unity of Ukrainian society and system international support are key factors to overcome the aggressor and create the European future of our country.
On July 22, the Council supported Law No. 12414, which, as reported, limits the independence of NABU and SAP. After that, the chairman of the Nabu Semen Krivonos called on the president to impose a veto on the bill, since the independence of the two institutions “actually destroys”.
Hundreds of citizens in different cities came in protest with a request to the president. Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law and stated that Nabu and SAP will work, but they should be “cleansed of Russian influences”.
