The export of grain was to begin with the departure of several ships laden with cargo, but unable to travel due to the outbreak of war.
President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the Odessa region, where preparations are underway to resume the export of Ukrainian grain. The head of state announced this on Facebook on Friday, July 29.
“We are ready to export Ukrainian grain. We are waiting for signals from our partners about the start of transportation,” Zelensky said.
He emphasized that it is very important for Ukraine to remain a guarantee of food security in the world.
“While a person, blocking the Black Sea, takes the lives of other states, we give them a chance to live,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
In the port of Chornomorsk, Zelensky met with the ambassadors of the G7 countries. They also arrived at Odessa, where grain ships can now leave.
The President said that the Turkish ship was the first to be loaded at the port of Chornomorsk. According to him, the export of grains will begin with the sending of several ships with cargo, but unable to travel due to the start of the war.
The previous day, the UN announced that on July 29, the first ships with grain could begin shipping from Ukrainian ports.
