British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss announced an increase in military aid and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that if she is elected prime minister, she will make the first call in this post to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with an expression of support. This Truss on Thursday, July 28, said in an article for The Daily Telegraph.
“My message to him will be very clear: the UK will do everything it can to help Ukraine win the battle for its future,” he said.
Truss pledged to continue to work closely with London’s allies to fully provide Kyiv with the necessary weapons and equipment.
According to him, the war in Ukraine is far from over and now is not the time to talk about concessions and compromises with the President of the Russian Federation.
He also announced his intention to introduce new sanctions against Russia.
Truss said he could coordinate international efforts to rebuild Ukraine under the Marshall Plan.
“As Prime Minister, I will ensure that the UK stands out on the world stage. We will stop authoritarian leaders and potential aggressors from the courage of our convictions,” he wrote.
It is known that Truss is leading opinion polls among members of the Conservative Party, which must decide who will be the new Prime Minister of Great Britain.
Recall that during the first televised debate, the contenders for the post of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss argued over their views on the future of the British economy.
Earlier, Truss said the UK was in favor of confiscating Russian assets that fell under sanctions in favor of Ukraine.
