France will not join the supply of US weapons for Ukraine.
Although the United States of America agreed with the allies from Europe in American weapons for Ukraine through NATO structures, Paris decided not to join this initiative. This was reported by Politico.
It is noted that the president of French Emmanuel Macron has long been calling for the European Union to develop his own defense industry and buy local. That is why, according to the sources of publication, the country did not join the initiative of US President Donald Trump.
In addition, France is currently forced to reduce budget expenditures and fight the deficit, which complicates the increase in defense costs.
Italy will also not buy American weapons for Ukraine. La Stampa said that Rome does not have a budget for such purchases. Instead, the country is ready to help with logistics and delivery of weapons to Ukraine.
Currently, Trump officially supported the UK, Germany, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, Sweden, Norway and Denmark for the supply of US weapons to Ukraine through NATO allies. Their initiative was publicly supported by German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz and General Secretary of NATO Mark Rutte.
Instead, the Czech Republic decided to refrain from the initiative, concentrating on the artillery ammunition program.
Remember US President Donald Trump, said that the Armed Forces would receive weapons from the United States through NATO structures. Weapons will be covered with countries of the North Atlantic Alliance.
