Two terrorist attacks in Somalia, 20 victims

The terrorist organization Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack on the city of Marka.

In Somalia, there were two terrorist attacks in the southern province of Lower Shabelle. At least 20 people died, Anadolu reported on Thursday, July 28.

So, according to the local authorities of the city of Marka, the attack was aimed at government representatives. The explosion killed 13 people, including Mayor Mark Abdullahi Ali Wafo. Authorities reported multiple injuries.

Another explosion occurred at the livestock market in the city of Afgoye. Seven people died and 14 others were injured.

Earlier in Somalia, an explosion at a cafe killed 10 people. The explosive device was detonated by a suicide bomber in a cafe in downtown Beledweyne.

Also in the capital of Somalia – the city of Mogadishu – the explosion killed five people, another 23 people were injured. The terrorists’ target was a UN car convoy.
