US President Donald Trump announced 25% of duties for all imports from Japan and South Korea. He reported this on his page on the Pravda social network.
He also warned the country from the answer, saying that any actions would meet with the United States.
If for some reason you decide to increase your responsibility, then any amount that you increase will be added to 25%that we charge, said-TOMP.
The relevant letters were sent to the leadership of both Asian states.
In the text of the letter, he reports that the duty is 25% – the minimum necessary to cover the trade imbalance.
Trump also indicates that the duty will be zero for companies that will produce goods in the United States.
Reuters emphasizes that today’s announcement does not change tariff rates introduced on April 2. Then Japan received duties of 24%, and for Korea – 25%, although Trump later stopped at his duties – this was supposed to end on July 9.
