The Russian Federation’s largest diamond and shipbuilding company has fallen under US sanctions

The U.S. Treasury has announced the imposition of sanctions against one of Russia’s largest companies – the Alrosa diamond mining company and the United Shipbuilding Corporation. “OFAC has imposed sanctions on Alrosa, a Russian state-owned business and the world’s largest diamond mining company, which also covers 90% of Russia’s diamond mining capacity,” the statement said. .

Penalties were also imposed on the Russian shipbuilding company – JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation, as well as on its management and 28 subsidiaries.

Earlier, Britain cooled the assets of Sberbank and Moscow Credit Bank. The country will also stop all imports of Russian coal and oil by the end of 2022.
