Both fugitive former ministers, according to media reports, are abroad. One – in Cyprus, the second – in the USA.
Former Minister of Justice Alexander Lavrynovych, suspected of treason for signing agreements in Kharkiv, fled to Cyprus. Another suspect – former Foreign Minister Konstantin Grishchenko – is in the United States. Ukrainian News Agency reported this on Wednesday, July 27, citing law enforcement sources.
“Grishchenko in the US, and Lavrynovych in Cyprus,” the source said.
According to him, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs left Ukraine and went to Paris in January and has not returned home from abroad until now.
At the same time, Lavrynovych left the country in May during Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Two days earlier, it was learned that law enforcement officials had reported suspicion of treason to the former Foreign Minister and ex-Minister of Justice in absentia. Then their names were not called.
And yesterday, the State Bureau of Investigation reported that former ministers Lavrynovych and Grishchenko were placed on the wanted list.
Earlier, the court authorized a special pre-trial investigation against former President Viktor Yanukovych in the case of signing agreements in Kharkiv in favor of Russia.
