The government of Ukraine has included the pharmaceutical industry in the list of the main directions of the country’s economy.
The Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting held on Tuesday, July 26, expanded the list of priority sectors of the economy. The government added the pharmaceutical industry to the list – the production of drugs and medical devices. This was announced by the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk.
The press service of the Ministry of Health explained on the department’s website that the inclusion of the pharmaceutical industry in the list of priority economic sectors will help attract state investment support for the industries, as well as increase of the number of jobs.
“This will avoid a collapse in the provision of the health care system with medicines and medical equipment, will guarantee their uninterrupted production, and, consequently, supplies to the end consumer. The population of Ukraine will be given access to quality medicine and medical equipment,” the ministry said.
