In the Kherson region, the mass reproduction of locusts, especially the pruses of Italy, has been recorded, which threatens the agricultural land. About this Friday, June 27, the state district service reported in the region.

The problem arose in the Borozensky Rural community territory of the Berislavsky District, where damage to sunflower crops was discovered. The spread of pests is caused by desirable weather conditions -a high air temperature and a long rainfall.

Due to the community situation, a special plant protection regime has been introduced, and experts are taking steps to interact and eliminate the foci of an increasing number of locusts, the report said.

The farmers of Kherson, Nikolaev, Zaporizhzhya and Dnipropetrovsk regions were called to conduct urgent reviews on their lands, especially abandoned fields, pastures, roads and meadows. It is recommended to conduct these checks in the morning or night time if the locust is in a state of relative -child rest.

In cases of exceeding the allowable injury threshold (2-5 individuals per square meter for Italian rod or 10-15 individuals per square meter for other types of locusts), they advise the use of allowed insects according to the state register of pesticides and agrochemicals.

Earlier, social networks reported that locusts were attacked by one of the regions of the Russian Federation. The local administration said it was absolutely impossible to destroy the pest, as the focus was on the gardens in the floating zone where processing was prohibited.
