In KSU for five months, no quorum is required for making important decisions, in particular, the chairman’s election.
President Vladimir Zelensky on Friday, June 27, appointed Alexander Vodiannikov as a constitutional court judge. This is proven by the corresponding order on the State head website.
“To appoint Alexander Yuryevich Vodiannikov by the judge of the Constitutional court of Ukraine,” the document said.
Thus, in KSU, the number of vacancies of judges appointed by the president’s quota dropped to two.
Two vacancies in the Verkhovna Rada quota and the judges’ Congress remains unchanged in two vacancies.
Remember, from January 27 of this year, KSU has no quorum required for decision. On that day, the authority of the three judges ended at the same time after the end of the established nine years. Thus, only 11 judges remain in court, and at least 12 out of 18 are required for the quorum.
As reported, the next Congress of the Ukraine judges on September 18, 2024 was elected the judge of the Constitutional court of Ukraine – it became Alla Oliinik.
