Today Russia has spent defending, including war against Ukraine, 13.5 trillion rubles (nearly $ 172 billion) in the annual calculus.
Russia can reduce budget costs for “defense”, the growth of which has become one of the reasons for increasing inflation rates. This was said by Russian Federation head Vladimir Putin at a press conference in Minsk, Rossmi reported Friday, June 27.
“Yes, we are bigger (Defense – Ed.) Cost now, it’s 6.3% of GDP. A lot or little? I think a lot, and this, of course, is one of the problems, including the budget we should solve. And we solve it with dignity,” said Russia’s dictator.
According to Putin, 6.3% of GDP is 13.5 trillion rubles (the total volume of GDP in financial size is 223 trillion rubles). “We pay for it (the growth of budget expenditures – ed.) Inflation, but we are now fighting this inflation,” said the Kremlin leader.
“We plan to reduce defense costs … Yes, we want to complete a special military operation (because Russian authorities are calling an entire war against Ukraine – Ed.) With the result we need. Of course, but it is calculated, this is what, and not under aggressive plans for European and NATO and NATO’s plan.” – says Putin.
Reminding, earlier that Putin signed budget amendments for 2025, providing for a significant reduction in economic costs after the collapse of oil and gas revenues.
