The charity project has been implemented in Slovenia and Austria, but in Ukraine it will work for the longest – almost a year. The support program is available to military personnel, veterans, war inmates and missing families.
In Transcarpathia, a unique rehabilitation camp continues to work for the psychological support of the Ukrainian military and their families. The American Charity Foundation Mountain Seed Foundation has begun with the participation of US Army veterans, with a personal experience in overcoming mental and physical injuries.
The ICTV Television Channel talks about its outline.
Earlier this year, the Mountain Seed Foundation, with the support of the American Buffetan Foundation, organized through the Ferrata climbing routes, which has become the main element of the project.
“We try to not only provide the opportunity to relax, but to teach people who survived the traumatic experience of the war to find meaning and joy in life. By climbing and joining family experiences, we help restore understanding to each other, overcome fears and discover power -that gives you to conquer not only the tops, but also our own interior”– says Irina Prikhodko, the program director and co -Founder of the Mountain Seed Foundation.

The camp operates next to the city of Vinogradov, in the Black Mountain. Here are the special routes for climbing different complexity. The program is designed for the monthly two races and will last until May 2026.
“This is a camp for the whole family, because one of the healing ingredients is definitely a family that really helps and is always close”– Project organizations mentioned.
During the career presented by ICTV journalists, 13 families of dead defenders visited the camp, including widows and children from the Zaporizhzhya region. So far, a camp for families from across the region takes place, followed by July – families from Kyiv.
Among the participants – Oksana from the Melitopol district, who lost his wife after a two -year service to the armed forces. The woman, with her daughter, first tried to climb:
“There are some opportunities-we will come to somehow pull ourselves emotionally. Support ourselves and the child, of course”– he shared.
But Victoria, whose husband died 9 months ago, said that the climb helped him to feel inner forces: “It’s cool. It gives you the feeling that you can do everything. If you’ve covered the mountains, you can overcome other life -threatening obstacles”.
The program includes not only physical activity, but also psycho -emotional practices – classes with psychologists, art therapy, respiratory techniques. Participants learned to overcome fear, out of traumatic conditions and make plans for the future.
“We try to help women. In those conditions, in this stress, we show them how to support ourselves with the help of nature.”– Explain the psychologists involved in the project.
This charity project has been implemented in Slovenia and Austria, but it will work in Ukraine for almost a year. Program support is also available for veterans, war inmates and missing families. Participation in the camp is free.
