The Kremlin continues to form regional volunteer battalions to be deployed in Ukraine.

Russia intends to seize new Ukrainian territories before holding pseudo-referendums and annexations. On Tuesday, July 26, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported.

“The Russian-backed leadership continues to announce timelines for the seizure of additional Ukrainian territory, likely to support ongoing preparations for referendums on whether these territories should be incorporated into the Russian Federation ,” analysts said.

So, the Deputy Minister of Information of the so-called “DPR” Daniil Bessonov said on July 25 that the fake republic expects to capture the entire Donetsk region by the end of August.

Earlier, various Russian and Western sources reported that Russia intends to hold referendums in the occupied territories in the first half of September.

The institute also cited the analysts’ main findings to date:

  • The occupation leadership announced an accelerated timeline for the seizure of Ukrainian territory to coordinate the Kremlin’s efforts to prepare for the annexation of the occupied territories.

  • Russian troops captured minor territories northeast of Bakhmut and continued to fight east and south of Bakhmut.

  • Russian forces launched a limited attack northwest of Izyum, likely to secure the Russian rear on the Izyum-Slavyansk line.

  • The invaders carried out a limited shelling in the southwest of the city of Donetsk near the border of the Zaporozhye region.

  • Russian troops concentrated on defending occupied lines and made limited ground attacks in the northwestern Kherson region.

  • Ukrainian troops continued to strike Russian logistics hubs in the Kherson region.

  • The Kremlin continues to form regional volunteer battalions to be deployed in Ukraine.

  • Sources of Ukrainian intelligence information continue to reveal Kremlin plans to annex occupied Ukraine through rigged referendums.

Recall that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published a summary of the military invasion of the Russian Federation on Tuesday evening, July 26.
