Naftogaz demands that Gazprom pay 1.37 billion dollars that he won in the Arbitration Tribunal in Zurich.
As explained in Naftogaz, this amount includes the main debt for gas transit services in accordance with the 2019 agreement, fines and compensation for all legal expenses incurred by the Ukrainian company.
If Gazprom refuses to voluntarily transfer funds, then Naftogaz will begin a strategy for mandatory restoration of assets.
According to the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian company, Sergey Koretsky, since May 2022, Gazprom violated his contractual obligations on the principle of accepting or payment, stopping payments. Already in September 2022, Naftogaz initiated an arbitration that Moscow tried to block Russian courts.
Now we have a final solution: the tribunal of arbitrators from Sweden, Switzerland and Israel is completely on the side of Naftogaz. The next stage is to ensure the implementation of the decision. We will work on it. Step by step, ”Koretsky added.
