Ukraine can now produce more than 8 million drones of different types per year, but financing gives us to produce less, the president mentioned.
The potential of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex (OPC) exceeds $ 35 billion and includes nearly 1000 types of products, but 40% has no appropriate funding. President Vladimir Zelensky said during a speech at a plenary meeting of the Forum of Defense Industries at NATO Summit in Hague on Tuesday, June 24.
“Our potential defense defense exceeds $ 35 billion. It includes nearly 1000 types of products – from artillery and traditional armored carriers to modern drones, by the way, all types and missiles. But about 40% of this potential is incorrect funding,” he said.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine can produce more than 8 million types of types year -time, but financing gives us to produce less.
“At the same time, Russia uses not only oil revenue for defense, but also resources of regimes such as North Korea and Iran, as well as Russian corruption in other countries. Therefore, the only unity is the best response to the Russian military network,” the President said.
He assured that Ukraine is open to various forms of cooperation in the defense sector, including the exchange of experience and achievements to the majority.
Zelensky called on forum participants to increase Ukraine investments in joint manufacture of weapons – “and all the weapons we made will be part of a new, stronger European defense and security system.”
Remember that in 2025, Ukraine will direct the record value for the manufacture of weapons – 55 billion hryvnias. Money is going to develop production, the introduction of new technologies and an increase in the capacity of defense businesses.
It is also reported that this year it is expected to attract 1.5 billion euros of investment in the Ukrainian defense industry in the “Danish model”.
