The agreement on the creation of a special on the tribunal on the crime of aggression of the Russian Federation will be signed on Wednesday, June 25.
This was announced by a member of the permanent delegation of Verkhovna RADA to take part in Evgenia Kravchuk.
The deputy stated that on Tuesday, June 24, an extraordinary meeting of the European Committee of Ministers, at which the Minister of Alienna Bers, should be authorized to sign an agreement with Ukraine on the creation of a special tribunal for a crime of aggression.
And tomorrow is a really historical event. What seemed only to the dream of justice will soon become a reality. Ukraine, together with the Council of Europe, will sign an agreement that will bring the Russian Federation to justice, ”Kravchuk wrote on her Facebook.
The signing of the agreement was clearly adapted to the Council of Europe of the President of Ukraine Volodimir Zelenski on the day of the first visit to the Council of Europe. On June 25, he will visit CE in Strasbourg at the invitation of Secretary General Alina Bers.
The President will perform with the Committee of Ministers and the pace – the focus of attention will be the creation of a special trip to Russia’s crimes.
According to Facebook, the head of the permanent delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Maria Mezentsev-confer, a number of important decisions are expected, in particular: in particular::
- Legal and human rights aspects of Russian aggression against Ukraine;
- Support for political negotiations to ensure the exchange and release of prisoners of war.
It is expected that the court will work in the Hague, and the first decisions will be adopted next year. In total, more than 40 countries are included in the coalition of the tribunal.
