The official results have not yet been published, but the department emphasizes that “it is difficult to doubt the overall manipulative purpose, which has nothing to do with the principles of democracy and openness.”
Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on completing the So -called “National Consultations Voks2025” in Hungary on the issue of Ukraine’s entry into the European Union. The survey initiated by the Hungarian government lasted from April 14 to June 20. This was stated in the department’s statement on Tuesday, June 24.
Foreign ministry emphasized that despite the willingness to listen to the opinions of the Hungarian people, the actions of the Budapest government have signs of manipulation.
“The official results of these consultations have not yet been published. However, it is difficult to doubt the overall manipulative purpose of this Hungarian government action, which has nothing to do with the principles of democracy, openness and transparency of mood.”
Diplomatic Ukraine emphasized that consultations were accompanied by an aggressive campaign against Ukraine, so the Hungarian government made maximum efforts to ensure the results needed.
In addition, foreign ministry believes that the true purpose of Budapest’s actions is to interfere with the public with internal problems.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to the Hungarians who supported Ukraine, and emphasized the strategic importance of entry into the EU – including for Hungary itself.
Foreign ministry also emphasized that all comments on European integration of Ukraine should be discussed as part of the negotiation process.
“If the Hungarian government has comments on the path of Ukraine’s integration in the European Union, it should, conversely, support the opening of entrance negotiations.”
The Foreign Ministry recalled that Ukraine was actively fulfilling the conditions for membership, even during a whole war.
The report added that Ukraine’s entry into the EU was an irreversible choice of civilization of Ukrainian citizens.
“Ukraine membership in the EU will strengthen the entire European community, increase stability and security, open new opportunities for European business,” completed in an official statement.
In 1998, Viktor Orban for the first time became the Prime Minister of Hungary at the age of 35 and was the youngest head of the government in modern Hungary. From 2002 to 2009 he was in the opposition. But on May 29, 2010, Orban was again Hungary’s Prime Minister. Since then, he has been in power for four hours.
That same year, he launched the technology of annual “national consultations.” This is something like a postal survey, and the results of these consultations are no legal force. That is why there are no mechanisms for monitoring if the process of voting and counting is honest.
As you know, on May 9, the SBU for the first time in history revealed a network of Hungary military intelligence. Among his tasks is to collect information about military protection of the Transcarpathian region, the search for vulnerable areas of the land and air defense in the region. On the same day, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarteo announced the ouster of two Ukrainian diplomats from the country. According to him, they are said to be piercing under a diplomatic cover. Ukraine in response sent two Hungarian diplomats.
