Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has refused information on the useless collection of users’ data from the Reserve+application, in particular, geolocation. This was reported by the department’s press service on Monday, June 23.
“Since yesterday, a misinformation was distributed to an inconsistent data collection from the Reserve+ application – in particular geolocation and digital data of users. Its purpose is to sow digitalization’s distinction, to cause doubts about the work of state applications and prevent the process of mobilizing the Ukraine,” the defense of the defense.
The department emphasized:

The reserve+ does not monitor user geolocation. The only accessing with an application is a camera (for scanning QR codes) and notifications. The application has no GPS trackers or hidden data collection tools. Each user can be able to check it out in the settings.

There is no evidence of any of the screenshots published on the web we are talking about Reserve+. The fragment above the Java code is not related to this application and is common, it can be used in any other product. In addition, the reserve+ does not use INMOBI modules, mentioned in the newspapers.

The reserve+ works exclusively with the information provided by the user independently by bankid, as well as in separate data from the enrollment of the amulet. All processes are transparent, and the system has passed the necessary checks in accordance with the requirements of current law in the field of technical protection of information and security information standards.
Remember that by the end of the year the Ministry of Defense plans to expand the reserve+function. It allows it to sign a contract with the Armed Forces.
