In the European Union, they agreed to close the Schengen district for the Russian military.

Thus, the ministers of the internal affairs of the Baltic states, Northern Europe and Poland, at a meeting in Tallinn on June 19 agreed to ban the entry into the Schengen zone to citizens of the Russian Federation who participated in aggression against Ukraine. This meeting was also attended by the European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Minus Brunner and the representative of the EU Front -Fronts Border Guard. This was reported at times of Israel.

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Estonia Igor Taro, hundreds of thousands of Russian citizens fought against Ukraine. And Europe, as the minister is considered, should show that these people will not be able to use Schengen.

We will not give them a residence permit, we will not give them visas, because all these people who killed and destroyed there a very high risk of security for all of us, ”he said.

It is expected that the ban on entering the Schengen area for this group of citizens of the country of the aggressor will remain valid even after the end of active battles.

We recall: “Schengen” is the largest zone of free movement in the world. Checks on the border between France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg were first abolished in 1985. Currently, the Schengen area covers 29 countries.
