Austria is ready to contribute to the return of Ukrainian children, who has been illegally exported by Russia from covered territories, and acts as a mediator in negotiations in Moscow. This was announced by President Vladimir Zelensky following a meeting with the head of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen in Vienna, the Service of the Press of the Head of State on Monday, June 16, reported.
“We appreciate Austria’s readiness to ensure the right intercession for meetings on Russia’s side,” Zelensky emphasized.
According to him, this initiative can be an important step for the return of Ukrainian children to home.
The President thanked Austria for the same support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and for hot interstate relationships. Zelensky also expressed gratitude to the people of Austria in connection with the tragedy in Graz.
“There is nowhere and parents should not lose their children, and the pain from such losses is that they cannot cure at least time. And when we talk about it, we feel what it means,” he said.
The meeting was in the focus of the meeting, issues of the end of the war, strengthening the pressure in Russia, protecting children and supporting the Ukrainian community in Austria. The Austrian President emphasized that his state remains military neutral, but not political.
